Legistlative standards

The ultimate responsibility for the protection of the South African environment currently rest with
The Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (D.E.A.T) and The Department of Water Affairs
and Forestry (D.W.A.F).

Working together with these departments, are a group of the most respected experts in the Country.
They have provided documentation that lays down “Guidelines to Minimization Requirements”,
covering critical aspects of Waste Management in respect to the potential environmental impact.

This is now in its third edition, these documents stipulate the principles that govern not only
wide ranging technical specifications but also best practice parameters of the Integrated Waste
Management Policy. To Skipwaste these policies constitute a meaningful point of reference
from which the Company will continue to innovate.
