WASTE CONTAINMENT
The logistical challenges we are experiencing when trying to manage large volumes of waste have led to the development of various containment methods. Waste is usually generated over a period of time and is stored at the waste generator before transportation and disposal. This can usually be achieved by utilizing standard equipment; sometimes however a more innovative approach is required - whether it is a specialized holding tank for toxic hydro-carbon waste streams or a specially shaped “half skip” for use on-board commercial vessels.
Containment is often considered together with minimization. Generators of high volume, low mass waste often utilize on site compactors to reduce the volume of these materials resulting in substantial savings on transport costs
