Hazardous waste disposal is a specialised service and the correct practise needs to be followed.
Skipwaste is working with permitted companies to re-use some of these materials

An Integrated Solution for Recycling of Fluorescent Lamps & Lights
Whole commercial and industrial lamps, and associated lamp products are recycled at a facility. Clean recycled fractions are produced including the mercury which is safely recovered and the product is cleaned for re-use in other applications by approved, environmentally compliant end users. Recycled fractions as follows:
- Glass
- Non-Ferrous Metals
- Ferrous Metals
- Plastic
- Phosphor Powder
- Mercury
- Storage & Handling
Skipwaste provides certification for safe disposal as well as receptacles for storage and training for safe handling. The light and lamp initiative removes several kilograms of mercury from the environment, hundreds of thousands of kilograms of fluorescent lamps are recycled and tens of thousands of other lamps. We provide fluorescent tube boxing for safe storage and collection to avoid the hazardous release of mercury vapour and phosphorous powder.

A MRF accepts a mixed solid waste stream and then proceeds to separate out designated recyclable materials through a combination of manual and mechanical sorting. The sorted recyclable materials may undergo further processing required to meet technical specifications established by end-markets while the balance of the mixed waste stream is sent to a disposal facility such as a landfill.

Various equipment and transport options are available, these will depend on volume generated by the client.
